Our Story So Far
Unient began its journey in late 2014, founded by Jeffrey Brenton, who currently serves as the Managing Director. With a 20-year career in IT Service Delivery that involved working with offshore staff, Jeffrey seized the opportunity to step out and provide IT services through his own company in the Philippines. In 2021, Unient expanded its operations to Singapore and India, significantly broadening its reach and capabilities. Over the next few years, Unient evolved into a premier offshore staffing company, providing top-quality talent to various industries, including IT, Business Services, and Construction.

Jeffrey Brenton
Founder and Managing Director
Throughout a 20-year career in IT Service delivery, Jeffrey has consistently excelled at listening to clients' needs and collaborating with others to deliver exceptional results. He has built and managed high-performing teams that have provided IT solutions to both corporate giants and small businesses. In 2014, Jeffrey founded UNIENT with the vision of offering cost-effective IT solutions to Australian businesses. To turn this vision into reality, Jeffrey relocated to the Philippines and continues to spend a significant portion of his time there with his family.
Through his deep understanding of Philippine culture and the dedication of its workforce, Jeffrey recognised the suitability of Philippine workers for various roles within Australian businesses. Consequently, UNIENT has grown into the premier diverse offshore company it is today. With a commitment to providing clients with a choice of service provision locations, Jeffrey expanded UNIENT to India and Singapore in 2021.
Outside of his professional endeavours, Jeffrey is an aviation enthusiast who began flying in his hometown of Adelaide, South Australia, before he could drive a car. Having lived in and travelled to numerous countries, Jeffrey believes that travel offers insights that bring us all closer together. When in Australia, he has rediscovered the charm of regional areas and cherishes the sense of community and engaging conversations found in Australia's small country pubs.
Angela Latayada
Head of Shared Services
Angela Latayada, also known as Gel, is the Head of Shared Services at Unient and has over 15 years of expertise in management, employment law, and human resource initiatives. She has experience in many facets of human resources, such as compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, hiring, onboarding, compensation, analysis, and training.
She can be found reading and absorbing Simon Sinek's writings or tending to her backyard garden when she's not creating or implementing company policies and procedures. She embodies the statement made by Simon Sinek, "A leader's job is not to invent everything; it is to create an environment where great ideas can happen." This helps her maintain employee engagement and collaborate effectively with a varied workforce. As the Head of Shared Service, she is progressive, adaptable, and inclusive and able to solve problems not just with her peers but also with her dog and cat rescues.
According to Angela, cooperation and connection foster better knowledge of organisational objectives, speedier decision-making, clearer communication, and an all-around more cohesive and productive team dynamic.
Junrex Ballesteros
Head of Operations
Overseeing daily operations, managing the department, establishing strategic direction, and improving organisational effectiveness are all expected of the head of operations, and Rex does all of this and more for Unient. Having worked in the industry for over 17 years, he feels excellence is defined by delivering excellent results regularly rather than by one exceptional accomplishment.
Junrex understands that employees are valuable and can effectively communicate with operations staff. It means delivering hard facts, providing thoughtful and constructive feedback, and listening to the empowered employees on the same team. When he is not on his business hat implementing and fostering feedback mechanisms with continuous improvements, you can see him cooking meals for his family or relaxing by the beach.
At his core, Rex believes that to be efficient, one should think analytically, communicate effectively, and execute efficiently. He believes that employees are valuable and can effectively communicate with operations staff. That means delivering the hard facts, providing thoughtful and constructive feedback, and listening to empowered employees who are part of the same team.
